A physical-computing composition using two ultrasonic sensors. MAXmsp and Arduino were used.
This work interprets the sympathy between humans and non-humans, such as a piano player and a computer in the form of a musical ensemble called 'Duet' and 'Trio.’ The computer converts the movement of the player's arm into numerical values and sends out notes accordingly, just like a musician in an ensemble. The performer listens to it and performs an improvised duet performance. The 1st and 2nd movements are duets between a computer and a piano player. The final movement is a Trio style in which a computer, a piano player, and an additional player send out notes through a computer keyboard.
